DPS Group continue to invest in colleagues development

Several colleagues have been taking part in learning and development opportunities throughout the crisis with the aim of future-proofing their skills.

Our project leads recently took part in an online version of the APM Project Management Qualification.

PMQ is a knowledge-based qualification developed by APM, the chartered body for the project profession. DPS Group project leads took part to be able to demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of how their projects fit into their strategic and commercial environment.

The PMQ internationally recognised qualification covers key project management areas such as:

- Leadership

- Communication

- Teamwork

Alan Rowe, DPS Group Project Director, recently took part in the course and said:

"The course has fifteen units with 73 assessment criteria, it covers the life-cycle of a project and the elements involved. It was professionally run, and the virtual delivery was excellent."

Alan added that the outcomes of the course assist with development: "It is a way to benchmark myself against standards set by my peers. The course instils confidence in the leadership, structure, and methodologies to gain success in projects."

DPS Group Project Engineer, Filip Kurek, also took part in the training course and was impressed by the benefits of working with his peers:

"There were people from various different backgrounds that were sharing how they would approach different aspects of projects. It opened up a fantastic opportunity to share ideas. It was good to see how other people work on the projects and their own approach.

Filip added: "Looking at the full project life-cycle was extremely interesting. To look at ways in which it planning can help with efficiency and confidence-building on certain projects."
