DPS Group announces ambitious plans for growth & new jobs

DPS Group today made a major announcement about plans for significant growth and new jobs over the next five years.

Glenrothes-based DPS Group today (Friday 29th January 2016) announces growth plans, which if successful, will see a significant increase in job opportunities.

The strategy was launched today at the company’s headquarters, where it specialises in industrial, process and control solutions.

With a current head count of 60 full time staff, DPS Group plans to double this number over the next five years, as well as creating significant secondary employment knock-on effects across its supply chain, particularly in the Fife region.

The group also currently employs eight modern apprentices and is committed to increasing that number of the same period.

Comprising four specific businesses, DPS Group provides one integrated solution with systems, services, product, and recruitment divisions. It has enjoyed over 15 years of steady growth, with the company now turning over £14m per year.

DPS Group currently works with clients across food & beverage, oil & gas, chemicals, and electrical sectors amongst others.

By 2021, DPS Group hopes to make significant progress including:

  • The acquisition of a leading mechanical engineering business – which will strengthen DPS Group’s position as a total solutions provider
  • Expansion into England, with a satellite operation expected to be established
  • Expansion of the current Glenrothes facilities, including building a 6000ft2 of new space in the DPS Group head office

DPS Group director Colin Burnett comments:

“We have extremely ambitious plans for growth over the next five years, but we recognise these will require exceptionally hard work from all involved.

“DPS Group is a thriving part of the Fife economy, and we believe this will continue, generating jobs directly through our plans, and indirectly via our supply chain.

“We are also committed to increasing the number of modern apprentices we employ and train, creating long term career opportunities for young people in the area.

“DPS Group benefits from being able to provide a real turnkey solution to our clients, providing for them cost effective and operationally efficient projects across a range of sectors.

“Our plans are bold, but deliverable, and with further announcements to follow in the months ahead, we expect more positive news, which is good for Fife.”

Mid-Scotland and Fife MSP Murdo Fraser today visited DPS Group’s headquarters to hear from the board of directors on their plans, before meeting staff – including those employed as modern apprentices.

Murdo Fraser MSP comments:

“DPS group have exciting plans for future growth which if delivered would provide sustainable and well-paid jobs for the Glenrothes area.

“It is important that both Fife Council and Holyrood do all that they can do support manufacturers who are committing themselves to the area on a long term basis.

“I enjoyed meeting both the Directors and the modern apprentices on site today. The DPS group are providing jobs for tomorrow and their commitment to the modern apprenticeship programme is important in generating opportunities for young people in the area.”
